Installation verification · Post-shipment

Confirm the racks are where they said.

An independent inspector attends the installation site, records what is there, and delivers a timestamped report under NDA. The only verification step that happens after shipment.

Why this exists

Every diligence process ends at the loading dock.

The buyer attested to an end use and a location. The paperwork was reviewed. The hardware shipped. After that, nobody looks.

Diversion happens after that. Forty servers delivered to a data centre in one country can be re-crated and moved within a week. The seller's file says the diligence was done. It does not say the hardware stayed.

Installation verification closes that gap with an observation: on this date, at this address, these serial numbers were racked and powered. Documented by someone with no commercial interest in the answer.

How it works

Scope, coordinate, inspect, report.

Step 1

Scope.

You give us the shipping manifest with serial numbers, the buyer's stated installation address, and the timing window. We confirm feasibility and quote.

Step 2

Coordination with the site.

We arrange access with the facility operator directly, under a mutual NDA. The operator deals with an independent inspector, not with their supplier's commercial team. Operators tend to prefer this.

Step 3

Inspection.

  • Physical presence of the racks at the stated address
  • Serial numbers reconciled line by line against your manifest
  • Timestamped photographs of racks, labels and the facility
  • Power and network connection status as observed
  • Chain of custody from delivery to installation, as evidenced by the site
Step 4

Report.

Delivered to you, and in a redacted form to the operator if agreed. The report describes what was observed, when, by whom, and how it reconciles to your records. Discrepancies are listed plainly.

Scope and limits

We are precise about what this report is.

It is an observation on a stated date at a named location by an independent inspector. It confirms what was present and reconciled at that time.

It is not a guarantee that the hardware will remain there, a statement about future use, or a legal opinion on the transaction.

That precision is what makes it useful. A report that overstates its own reach is worth less to you and to your counsel than one that states exactly what it saw.

Pilot programme

Limited inspections while we build the network.

Installation verification is in pilot. We are taking a limited number of inspections over the coming months while we build out the inspector network. Pilot inspections are priced at cost plus travel.

In return, we ask for candid feedback on the report format and permission to describe the engagement, anonymised, to future clients.

Pricing. Per inspection, priced by country, facility complexity and timing. Not a subscription. Combined with buyer vetting on a retainer plus per-inspection basis.
